Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles, Los Angeles County

Crypto.com Arena

The changeover from Staples Center to Crypto.com Arena coincided with the nationally televised Lakers-Nets game on December 25, 2021. Construction of the arena, after long, sometimes contentious, negotiations, started in 1997 and it opened on October 17, 1999, with Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. Located next to the Los Angeles Convention Center complex and considered part of L.A. Live, it is currently the home venue of the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA), Los Angeles Kings (NHL) and the Los Angeles Sparks (WNBA) (The Clippers will be moving after the 2023-24 season is over). The venue is also frequently used for major concerts and has been the most frequent host of the Grammy Awards ceremony since its opening. In addition, the arena has hosted multiple sold-out WWE dates, UFC events, over 34 nights of boxing, Disney on Ice, Walking with Dinosaurs and the Harlem Globetrotters.
