Orange Union High School
The five buildings of Orange Union High School that are now part of the Chapman University campus were built between 1905 and 1922. The original academic building, designed by local architect C.B. Bradshaw, was completed in 1905. The “Twins,” the Science and Commercial Buildings, designed by Santa Ana architect Frederick Eley, were completed in 1913. Construction of Memorial Hall in 1921 and the Art & Cafeteria Building in 1922 also involved moving the academic building. In 1954, O.U.H.S moved a few blocks away to become Orange High School, and the site became the new, permanent home of Chapman College. The academic building is now Wilkinson Hall, the “Twins” are Reeves Hall and Smith Hall. It is unclear when the Art & Cafeteria Building became Founder’s Hall, but it is now Roosevelt Hall. The site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
