Righetti House
The Righettis are considered a pioneer Italian family in Ventura. Dante J “Daniel” Righetti ran a general merchandise store on Main Street “offering billiards, cigars, tobacco and confections.” The most recent city documentation indicates that the 2,845 square-foot, single family residence was built in 1895 “along Valdez Alley near the Mission.” Architecturally, the house is important as one of the relatively few unaltered examples of the late Queen Anne period remaining in Ventura. In 1923, Dr. Julius Bianchi, a prominent local physician, purchased the home and also used it as his office. It was used later as a convalescent home and boarding house. On January 24, 1947, Sidney Houghton had the house moved to its current location on Park Row Avenue. It is a City of San Buenaventura Historic Landmark.
