Sherwood House
The Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument application for the Sherwood House in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles states that it “embodies ‘the distinguishing characteristics of an architectural type specimen, inherently valuable for a study of a period style or method of construction’ as a notable example of the Tudor Revival style.” It was designed in 1929 by Charles M. Hutchison for Lucile Sherwood as one of the first homes built in the F.P. Fay Company’s “Los Feliz Hills” planned subdivision. The house has had only four owners which speaks as much to the comfort of the home as to its excellent condition. The LAHCM application was approved in 2012.
