Casa Laguna
Casa Laguna is one of eight courtyard apartment buildings designed by Arthur and Nina Zwebell, a husband-and-wife team of self-taught architects who specialized in Spanish Revival architecture. It was built in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles in 1928. The 18 apartments range in size from studios to two-bedrooms with high ceilings, hardwood floors, and fireplaces. The complex was originally built as a luxury apartment complex during a time when Los Feliz was a popular destination for Hollywood stars and other celebrities. The complex fell into disrepair in the 1960s and 1970s, but was restored in the 1980s. It was designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument in 2006.
