Trianon Apartments
The 6-story, 28-unit French Chateau-style Trianon Apartments building on the border of Hollywood and Los Feliz in Los Angeles is one of the most impressive designs of the legendary apartment house designer Leland A. Bryant. It was a project of the Chateau Holding Company operated by Ray and M.T. Leek and Nathan Goldberg. The elegant architecture and luxurious amenities have made it a desirable home for notable residents including Fred Beetson, a co-founder of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, actors Charlie Chaplin, George Irving, Harry Woods, Vincent Spano and Billy Zane, director Charles O’Malley, composer Albert Von Tilzer and singer Belinda Carlisle. It has also been used in numerous films and television shows. It was designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument in 1995. Note: Connections between the building and Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks, promulgated on the internet, appear to be unfounded and may be limited to their ownership of an apartment there.
