First Baptist Church of Yorba Linda
On June 4, 1911, community residents convened to plan the construction of the first church in Yorba Linda to offer Christian education to local children. Through a cooperative effort between a variety of church denominations, including Methodists, Presbyterians, and others, at a cost of $1,513.63, the Friends Church was organized and built as a joint effort of the congregation in 1912. The charter members included Frank A. and Hannah M. Nixon, parents to future United States President Richard M. Nixon. Nixon himself was baptized at the church in 1930. The church was bought by the congregation of the First Baptist Church in 1963.
