U.S. Post Office
Prominent Riverside architect G. Stanley Wilson designed the main U.S. Post Office in Redlands. The design was primarily in the Mission Revival style typical of federal construction in the area at the time. Wilson also incorporated elements of the related Spanish Colonial Revival and Mediterranean Revival styles. He added visual richness with the Moorish dome. Construction started in March 1933, but contract issues delayed opening until July 1934. It has an asymmetrical plan, distinguishing it from most federal buildings of the 1930s. The post office also houses the Redlands Postal Museum. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
