Odd Fellows Hall
“The Odd Fellows’ building is a fine building with much character and fine architectural design, unique in Santa Ana’s large commercial district.” That is the general evaluation of the Odd Fellows Hall in its application to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The application was successful. The Odd Fellows Hall was built by the Santa Ana Lodge No. 236 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in 1906. It served historically as a commercial building and an IOOF clubhouse until 1981. The Santa Ana Register, which became the Orange County Register, was the first tenant, on its ground floor, and stayed until moving to larger quarters in 1913. The building is one of the last surviving late Victorian commercial buildings in the city.
