Perris Depot
Perris developer J. W. Nance built the Perris Depot in 1892. The station replaced a previous wooden structure at the same site on the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway line. Fred T. Perris was Chief Engineer for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. He oversaw construction of the second Transcontinental Railroad as well as laying out several town sites, one of which was the town of Perris. His son-in-law, Benjamin Franklin Levet, Sr., designed the station in the Queen Anne style, with red brick siding, a conical-roofed turret, round windows and an arched entry. The depot served passenger traffic as well Perris Valley agricultural business until the latter part of the 20th century. It serves as a museum today. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
