Anaheim Packing House
In 1919, the Anaheim Orange & Lemon Association built a second generation citrus packing house along the railroad spur that runs down the middle of Santa Ana Street. It was designed in the Mission Revival style with two floors totaling almost 42,750 square feet. The lower floor is partially subterranean, raising the upper floor to railcar loading level. After packing operations ceased in 1955, it was occupied sporadically until the Anaheim Redevelopment Agency acquired it in late 2000. Starting in 2010, the building was seismically retrofitted, key features were restored and it was rehabilitated for adaptive use as a food emporium, the Anaheim Packing House, that opened on May 31, 2014. The only remaining citrus packing house in Anaheim is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
