Fullerton First Methodist Episcopal Church
Built in just seven months, Fullerton’s oldest continuous church has hosted three different church congregations. It was designed in the Late Gothic Revival Style by famed LA architect Albert R Walker with his partner Percy Eisen. When the building was dedicated on November 21, 1909, it was considered not only the finest church in Orange County but also the most modern, featuring electric lights, a back-up generator (an “independent gas plant”), telephone connections, and a furnace room in the basement designed to heat the entire building. It is noted for its opalescent stained glass windows and construction using handmade red brick from the Simons Brick Company in Los Angeles. The church is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
