Fullerton Union High School Auditorium
The 1300+ seat auditorium at Fullerton Union High School was constructed during the Great Depression as a Works Progress Administration project. A 75-foot long, 15-foot high mural entitled “Pastoral California”, painted by W.P.A. artist Charles Kassler in 1934, is found on the west side of the building under the arched arcade. It was restored through a community effort in 1997, after it had been covered by paint for 56 years. Formerly the Louis E Plummer Auditorium, the school board voted to drop Plummer’s name after it was disclosed in 2020 that he had been a member of the Ku Klux Klan. It is on the National Register of Historic Places.
