The Parasol Restaurant

The Parasol Restaurant in Rossmoor was one of several iconic Googie architecture restaurants with that name that opened in 1967 in the greater LA area. The Rossmoor location closed in 2004, was saved from demolition in 2007 when it opened as a Mel’s Diner, closed again in 2009 and was bought in 2010 by its current owner, Panera Bread. It is the only Parasol Restaurant still standing.
