Union Pacific Railway Station
The Union Pacific Railway Station in Anaheim was built in 1923 by Union Pacific Railroad (the “Salt Lake Line”) in classic mission revival style at an estimated cost of $20,000. It served as a passenger terminal for only about 10 years, then as a freight terminal into the 1980s. In 1990, the Anaheim City Council voted to restore the station and include it as part of a larger downtown redevelopment scheme. It was moved 600 feet south from its original location in 1991 when improvements were made to Lincoln Boulevard. It is now owned by the Anaheim Community Redevelopment Agency and serves as a daycare center.
