Queen Anne Cottage
E. J. “Lucky” Baldwin’s Queen Anne Cottage and adjacent Coach Barn, on the grounds of the LA County Arboretum and Botanical Gardens in Arcadia, were built in 1885/86. It is speculated that he built the cottage for his new 16 year old bride Lillie, daughter of the architect Albert Bennett. Baldwin, once considered the wealthiest landowner in Southern California, was known for his good fortune as an investor and real estate speculator. The cottage is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
